Video Poker Myths – Truths
Poker, perhaps, has the most myths and falsehoods associated with it than any other game. Legends abound with these stories and can actually affect how a new player approaches the game.
● All odds are always determined by the payback table. How you insert the money in the machine, such as coins, paper money or credit cards, have absolutely no effect whatsoever on the outcome of the game.
● Another myth is the denomination amounts inserted in to a machine have an effect on the game. As all odds are determined by the payback table, that possibility is completely wrong. If you insert $1 or $100, the outcome would be the same.
● RNG. The random number generator is just that, random. As it simulates a 52 deck of cards, the player´s chances of getting any one card is still 1 in 52.
● The odds of winning a royal flush in the next game is just as high as having just won one. All games are independent of each other and as such, the outcome has no bearing on the next game.
● Whether a game has a good payout table or not and a player´s strategy is a good one, players will still lose often. As the payback percentage is mostly held with the royal flush, this event occurs once every 40,000 hands or thereabouts.
