Video Poker Hall of Fame Top 5
In any type of Hall of Fame, there are those who made it and then there are those who are considered at the very top of the list of Hall of Famers.
Since 2002, vpFREE has inducted members who have contributed significantly to the understanding of video poker and techniques on how to play them.
The top 5 are:
● Si Redd. Si Redd invented video poker. He was the owner of Oasis Resort Hotel and Casino, in Nevada. Back in 1975, a company he helped found, International Game Technology, designed and marketed the world´s first video poker machine. IGT is now one of the largest manufacturers of gaming machines worldwide. Si passed away in 2003.
● Lenny Frome. With a mathematical background and as a former rocket scientist, he was able to figure out probabilities and odds on casino games. Video poker became a passion for him. While seasoned poker players ignored the video poker machines, he thought otherwise. With his 1994 book “Winning Strategies for Video Poker”, he wrote the blueprint for winning video poker.
● Bob Dancer. An old hand at video poker, Bob is an institution within the game. While he is a player, he also promotes, writes and is an author as well as a consultant. He writes countless guides, videos and strategy cards on how to effectively play.
● Skip Hughes. While others were busy playing and writing, Skip decided to inform the rest of us about video poker. His vpmail Video Poker Mailing List is a must-have for any player who considers playing. He writes for the recreational player.
● Jean Scott. A 2005 inductee, Jean wrote several “Frugal” titled books on gambling. As she stresses responsible gambling, she teaches the rest of us about how to get the most out of casino comps. She has appeared in many TV shows such as 48 hours, Hard Copy and Dateline. She passes on her knowledge often the Travel Channel.
