Wake up hand
A player given a hand that has a winning potential.
Walk
When a player misses a hand or two because they left the table temporarily. Also, a pot that was won by the last blind and when no one opens.
Walkers
Players who frequently walk.
Wayne Gretzky
A starting hand of Nine Nine in holdem games.
Wheel
Also known as a bicycle. The lowest hand in a lowball such as the Ace, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Whipsaw
Raising before or after a caller gets in caught in the middle.
Wild card
A card that is designated as a joker and can be played as any value.
Wired Pair
A pair in a hand.
Woolworth´s
A starting hand of Five Ten in holdem. Comes from the old name of Woolworth´s “five and ten cent stores”.
