Maniac
A nickname for players who are aggressive with their game or play loosely. Often, these players bluff considerably, raise bets often and have a lot of hands.
Maverick
The poker name for a Queen and a Jack in pocket, suited.
Mechanic
A dishonest card dealer.
Mid-life crisis
Pocket fours. A holdem term starting Four Four.
Middle pair
A pair is made with one of the pocket cards that are either under or over cards on the board. If, for example, you have an AT and the flop comes KT7 then you have the middle pair of tens.
Middle position
Between early or late positions on a round of betting.
Money
Not used often. It means $500.
Money put in action
All money that has been played during a gaming session and includes all winnings after each round.
Muck
Area of the table where all the dead cards are placed after being folded or burnt
