Hammer

To aggressively raise a bet.

Hand

The cards that players hold. Also, the player´s best five cards.

High poker

This is the standard poker. The high hand always wins.

High society

The name for $10,000 chips.

Hilton Sisters

The holdem starting hand that is a queen queen. This hand is also called The Ladies.

Hit

To accept another card. To take a hit. A player will also call out “hit me” and the dealer will give that player another card.

Hold your own

The player breaks even. They neither win nor lose.

Hole

The concealed cards or card.

Hole card

A card that is concealed by a player.

Hold button

This button is on video poker machines that are used by players to tell the game which cards to hold.

Hooks

A starting hand that shows a jack jack. In Texas Hold ´Em games.

Hot

A winning player.

House edge

The advantage that the casino has over a player. Expressed as a percentage of one´s wagers
