Dead Man´s hand
The Texas Hold ´Em starting Ace eight and making two pairs on the board AA88. The name is due to Wild Bill Hickock being shot dead while he had this exact hand.
Dead money
Term to describe a novice player who has no chance of winning in a tournament. The funds used by this player are known as “dead money”.
Dealer´s choice
Where the dealer will chooses what poker will be played.
Declare games
In this game, the player must declare the value of their hand so they can claim the pot.
Deuce
The lowest ranking in a poker card, a 2.
Deuce to seven
This is a two to seven without a flush and it is the best hand.
Deuces wild
All 2´s are wild. This is one of the fun variations of video poker.
Discard
Cards that players do not keep from the first set of dealt cards. On video poker machines, a player can press this button to discard cards.
Dominate
A player´s staring hand that will most often beat another starting hand.
Door card
In the poker 7 card stud, this is the first exposed card in a player’s hand.
Draw lowball
A variation of poker where the lowest card wins.
Drawing dead
Playing to a hand that cannot win.
Drawing hand
A hand in a video poker machine that must improve in order for the player to win off the pay table
