Ace high
The five card hand that contains an ace but no pair. This hand beats a king high but loses to all pairs or above.
Aces full
A full house with aces over all pairs.
Aces up
Two pairs but one of them is aces.
Aces with a kicker
Used most often in double bonus video poker games. It refers to four aces with a deuce, three or four. Normally, it has higher payouts than four aces with any other cards.
Action
The money bet by a player during a play session. A total action is the full amount of all wagers bet.
Active player
A player who stays in the game. In other words, a player still in the pot.
Add-on
The opportunity to purchase more chips during a competition
Advertise
A player bluffs with deliberate intention of wanting to be known as a loose player.
All-in
A player who wagers all of their remaining playing chips. Typically, when a player does this, they believe they have the best hand at the showdown.
An Ace working
An ace in hand.
Angle
A trick. Technically legal but an ethically inferior way to increase the player´s expectation of that game.
Ante
A wager in order to begin a hand. In some poker games, this is compulsory prior to receiving cards.
Audition
The test that dealers must take and pass before being hired by a casino
